Hadrons are subatomic particles, heavier than electrons; protons, neutrons, pi-mesons and few charged atoms (ions) as Helium, Carbon and Oxygen are the hadrons used in the cancer treatment. The intrinsic precision of a hadron beam in delivering the dose to the tumour tissue is the main advantage of hadron therapy respect to the tradition photon and electron therapies.
